Permit Letter Required: AQ Belize Car Rental requires 48 hours advance notice to prepare the permit letter so you can drive the rental across the Guatemala border. A USD $50 fee applies for the permit letter.

Fees listed below are paid at the border
Fees at the Belizean Border
$20.00 USD / per person — Exiting Belize (Departure Tax)
$5.00 USD — Fumigation (Returning to Belize)
Fees at the Guatemalan Border
$6.00 USD — Fumigation fee
$30.00 USD — Vehicle Import Permit (to cross the rental into Guatemala)
$6.00 USD — Toll fee for municipality
$30.00 USD — Entrance fee at Tikal
Important
Customers will not be allowed to exit the Belize Border and cross into Guatemala without the permit letter and without paying the required fees. All fees are payable at the border only.
